MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I went thru my pictures of the Allen Siblings' Christmases past.
Things have changed, but it should warm our hearts to remember the fun times.  We are blessed with a loving family and precious memories!

A BUG ZAPPER is a great gift

Tommy and Judy visit Carol on their Christmas trip up north.

The FIRST ever Allen Sisters' cookie exchange.  It became an annual event for many years and attendance grew and grew!

Deborah always came to the parties:)

Roy was always the life of the party!

Uncle David was so much fun.

Christmastime on the farm.

Theresa always believed in Santa!

The Christmas quiz was taken very seriously.

SPRAGUE'S Maple farm was a special holiday destination.

For a few years, as adults, we sisters exchanged gifts.

Tom Mayo looks like he has a good hand---bad poker face, tho.

Above and below:  Pictures from the last family Christmas party held at Nancy and Barry's home.  A hillbilly get together!

One of the cookie exchanges I hosted at our cabin.

All I will say about the following TWO photos is that we laughed until our sides ached.  This ornament (which we exchanged at our cookie parties) seemed a little on the weird side.  Patty was more than happy to take it!   HAAAAAAA!

Patty hosted one of the family parties.

When we all got older and passed the Christmas-party torch on to the next generation, Andrew and Allison Mayo answered the call.

Mom used to say (when she got old) that when she looked into the mirror, she did not recognize that person.  Well, now we all know what she meant.
Christmas is a good time to be thankful.  The Savior is born.
Count your blessings this Christmas season!

*Just a note that since Tommy left us, I have not had the same zest for posting on my blog.  I knew he really enjoyed it (as he was not on Facebook) and Nancy, too, looked forward to my posts.  I just felt nostalgic and wanted to bring back some sweet memories to you all.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Our "Tommy"

Brother; loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, friend; teacher; patriot; farmer at heart; man of faith.

Thomas Francis Allen. . .
You will always be Tommy to us.

"On the road again"--- how many times did we all receive that email!

He had an absolute blast with his "flat Sister" production!!

Lew and I traveled to Chicago for Scott's retirement---Dad could not have been more proud!

Loved all his grandchildren and got such a kick out to them.  They made life worth living, especially in his last years.

He thoroughly enjoyed family get togethers!

Devoted husband, except when it came time to taking out the trash, lol!

Nancy was very special to him.

(Matt Mayo---above)
Tommy and Judy loved it when family came to visit!

And when Tommy visited Nancy, she always came thru with lemon meringue pie!
