Family Happenings

C O W     P O O P
Only eight days until summer officially begins.
Thanks to my "regulars" who send pictures and news!

PLAY TIME

On Saturday, June 11, Nancy, Barry and Lacey traveled to Fairport to see Dianne perform in her latest theatre production,
 "Steel Magnolias."
Dianne played the part of the mother (Sally Field's role).  Most of you know the movie.
Nancy and Lacey got teary eyed and that means Dianne did a great job!  They enjoyed themselves, along with Mary Ann and Linwood, and went out for dinner after the 2 PM matinee.

On the set for pictures after the performance.

SCHOOL'S OUT---PAINTIN' TIME!
Kerry wastes no time getting into her art projects.
Someone asked her to paint two Adirondack chairs and a table with a Jimmy Buffet theme.  The chairs and table came unassembled and were a natural brown color.  Not realizing just how much was involved with the project, Kerry priced it out at $75 per chair and $25 for the table.  MAJOR faux pas.  After 65 hours of work, she calculated that her hourly rate came out to paltry $2.70/hr.!!!
Never again (at least for that price)!
Love the arms!

What a great job! We look forward to seeing more!

. . . IN CONTRAST

Nancy wanted some colorful Adirondack chairs that are made of recycled materials---very popular right now.  I told her there were some for $299.00 each at market about 20 minutes away.  But she was looking for something a bit less expensive---like $19.99 each!

Nancy's CHEAP CHAIRS!

Noelle brought all of her nieces and nephews MICKEY MOUSE ears from Disney World.  They are not just the plain black and red ones that we remember!
above:  Noah and Avianna enjoying their ears.

Timmy was looking forward to some quiet time, but then all the critters descended upon him!

On another note, with hurricane season just around the corner,
T & K decided to purchase a used "5th wheel."  This will enable them to leave the area with all the pets and not have to worry about finding lodging if the worst happens.  This is the reality of living southern Louisiana.

Inside the camper---pretty nice, I'd say!

"Just Me and My Dad."

Uncle David sent this picture to me.  His son-in-law picked up REAGAN (David's granddaughter) from school to go see a girls' lacrosse game at Cortland.  The photographer spotted them sitting by themselves up high in the stands and snapped this shot.  It made the Cortland newspaper with the above caption.
Cool picture!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Kevin certainly has every right to be proud!  Shealyn turned 18 and graduated from high school on June 5.  She ranked 3rd in a class of 250 with a weighted GPA of 4.6.  She will attend PITT (Pittsburgh University) in the fall, majoring in engineering.   Well done, Shealyn!

AND, Cathy and Jim's daughter, Erin, made the DEAN'S LIST for her sophomore year at
Alfred University.  Keep it up, Erin!

Mommy cat with her two kittens.  These are feral cats that roam N & B's property.
NOTE TO MY SISTER, CAROL:

" Do you remember our kittens, "Smokey" (yours) and "Blondie" (mine)?  These kittens remind me exactly of them!!!!!!  We also had "Peppy" and "Pudgy" who were both yellow.  It's a good thing I don't remember what happened to all of them.  I'm sure with all the barn cats, they were not  highly valued.  I do remember daddy backed over one of them and I never forgot it.  Sooo  upsetting!!!!!"

Lacey the Weather Spotter

On a Sunday evening about two weeks ago we had some killer storms move through the area.  Lacey was at Nancy's and took this photo.  Hide under the bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time for a coffee break!

Patty received lots of flowers for Mother's Day.

Nancy and Barry showed up at the gazebo in Hammondsport to watch the prom picture-taking and see grandson Connor.

Timmy stopped by Cathy's to visit with her and Erin.

"Tinkerbell" and "Carlie" enjoy the cool ceramic tile flooring in the hot LA summers.

Yankee dogs, "Bruiser" and "Friday" hang out on the porch as Barry and Timmy play on the 4-wheelers.

and . . .
The day before Timmy headed back to LA he took Aunt Theresa, Nancy and myself out to brunch.  Theresa is doing well and her mind is as sharp as ever!

On the way home Theresa took time to show Timmy around her new place.

and FINALLY . . . .

Christi stopped at Nancy's to see Timmy and brought Connor with her.   Timmy was kind enough to take about an hour to tutor Connor on his trigonometry (he's having a bit of trouble with it).
 You go, PI MAN!

This is a rush job as I had many photos.  I still have more and will try not to take so long next time.
In the meantime, enjoy summer.  Things could be worse, like the picture below.
Carol and Jimmy had a hail storm last week and she sent me the proof!
