SPRING THINGS!

*NOTE:  I have installed a button on the left side of the blog where you can sign up for emails when I update my blog.  Give it a try!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RENEE!

April 25, today, is Renee's birthday.  Yesterday Nancy, Cathy and I celebrated with her a day early, treating her to lunch.
We had a sweet time enjoying lunch and remembering our sister and mom, Patty (and missed her dearly).  It's good to talk about the sad times as well as the happy times.
Renee looked wonderful in her daffodil yellow.

Nancy and I wanted to make the luncheon as "springy" as possible.
A gift bottle of wine sported a hula skirt.  Also, a hula girl and flower headbands from the Dollar Tree added just the right touch!

Nancy had this photo of Patty's four children framed for Renee.  It is a beautiful family picture!

There is always room for strawberry shortcake!!!

I had no idea that Renee would wear yellow when I picked out her flowery head gear:)
Other restaurant patrons got a kick out of our decorations.
Cathy admits she needs to practice taking selfies, LOL!!!
Wishing you a wonderful year filled with hope and love, Renee!

Work day in Savona

Barry is doing a major overhaul of the swimming pool:
. . .  new sides, liner and deck.  Whoa Nellie!!

While Barry worked on the pool, I took a four-hour spin on the lawn mower!  The grass was thick with all the spring rains.

I did take a  short break for coffee and Nancy's homemade cherry pie---real cherries, not the
canned filling.

In the meantime, NANCY did spring cleaning for the
pets.
ANSWER:  NANCY THE GERMAPHOBE!!!

The kitties inside play area got a thorough airing-out and vacuuming.  They do live the good life, HA!

"Trouble" (top) and one of my very favorite cats,
"NIXON."  Nancy named this kitty Nixon because he has a crooked tail.  His is very lovable and not a crook.

Deep in the heart of TEXAS

Savannah, on Judy's lap, had the family out in force for her
volleyball game.  How this brings back memories of attending sporting events of my boys.  I miss those times.  Such fun!
What a great family memory---thanks for sharing, Tommy!!!

*note:  I have more pictures of Tommy & Judy's two-day Texas getaway which I will post next time---HONEST!
I'm sort of rushing cause today is Renee's birthday and I want to publish this post as quickly as possible.
Thanks for sending family happenings, Tommy!  We love seeing what y'all are up to!!!

COFFEE CORNER

Carol enjoys a giant, homemade cookie with her coffee.  Note to Carol:  Too much cookie, not enough COFFEEEEEEEE!!!!
It does look yummy, tho:)

EASTER Pictures Are In!

Easter with the kinfolk:

Thank you, Barry, for treating us all to an Easter brunch at
Club 57 in Hornell.  We had a very nice time and it made
it seem more like a holiday spending time with family!

There was a terrible downpour when we left the restaurant, and Nancy got soaked when she got out of the car at home (she wanted a before and after "hair" picture, ha!).
Brett gave her these flowers for her porch---love the purple!

Tommy & Judy get ready for Easter.
All I can say is that they are making coloring eggs great again:  What an assembly line!!!

This makes me wish I had my grandchildren living nearby:(

Many of you have seen this on FB, but Nancy and I and some others have not so here it is:

Tommy and Judy with grandchildren, dressed in their Easter finery.
                                         God is good!!!!!

Lacey gave me this Easter card.  She knows I enjoy my Twitter account!

Allison provided a feast for eight for the Mayo Family.
This looks like The Waltons' table!
Love your simple, white place settings, Allison:)

CAROL'S COOKIES

You really should sell your cookies, Carol.  I am so envious of your talent!  I will put my order in for Thanksgiving cookies!

 NOTE from Carol:
Jennifer's dogs, Ace and Buster, playing in the blizzard. NBC asked John for permission to use a short video clip John took of them on TV the night of the blizzard. Beautiful pic of them in their back yard with the contrast of black and white!
*I agree---this is a great picture!

. . . Chris flew up for Easter weekend, so some of us went out for dinner on Good Friday. Jennifer and Katie are flying back to Florida with him to spend spring vacation with him and Rebecca.
Jimmy, Carol, Chris, Jamie, Steve and Karen with their three children and someone's blonde head (may be Allison, Jamie's daughter).

NOTE:  Rebecca does not like to fly---especially United Airlines;)

Jimmy's mother fixes a lovely Easter dinner.  It reminds
me of home and bygone days.  Love the covered tureen.

Allison, Carol's granddaughter, is all dressed up for Easter.
I miss the Easter hats that we oldsters wore!

Andrew always loves to color eggs.

CRITTER CORNER

Nancy and Barry always give the dogs a treat on holidays.  Nancy felt sure this toy would be indestructible.  But it did not take Taffy and Snickers long to "splode" it!

From CAROL:  My Misty May, always on my heated floor in front of the toilet!
 ---She is no dummy, Carol!
