I'm Back

I had a fantastic, month-long trip to Germany!  I got to see beautiful Munich (where Jeff, Anne and Catherine live), took a 6-day vacation with them along the "Romantic Road," experienced Oktoberfest, and got to spend precious time with my adorable granddaughter.

Thank you Jeff and Anne!!!

Celebrating Catherine's 3rd birthday at a berry farm.

Marien Platz in downtown Munich---I saw this in 2005 but it never gets old.  A wonderful city and so much to see.

Beautiful stained glass window in one of the many churches we visited.

Lunch at an outdoor cafe in Munich.

Sightseeing along the Romantic Road, 2 1/2 hours north of Munich.
Rothenburg on the Tauber River---the highlight city of the Romantic Road.  This is the STEIFF bear store.

My gorgeous dirndl!  Jeff and Anne bought it for me and I felt like a real German at Oktoberfest!!!

Catherine in Rothenburg.  So many Christmas shops!!

The weather was amazing.  Jeff said we had the "Bavarian Blue Sky," and it stayed that way for the entire vacation.

Inside one of the famous Christmas shops.

 OKTOBERFEST!
Anne made Catherine her own dirndl---beautiful job!

Cake and coffee at the local bakery.  Everything there was fantastic.

This little girl was the highlight of my trip!!!

Steve and Andrew take a guys' vacation right before school starts.

They took their bikes along and they came in handy in Washington DC, one of their stops.

T

Looks like a fun, and educational, time!

FALL is HERE---YAY!

Leaves are turning at the MOON residence, and Nancy is making apple pies with different apples to see which ones make the best pies.  Yum.

Barry puts apples  out for the deer every year.

Finally, this . . .

I  have to say I find this photo rather sobering.  Jeff and I were in downtown Munich and went for lunch and shopping at a very nice department store.  I took a bathroom break and was quite taken aback when I saw this sign.  It was placed on the mirrors right above the sinks, so you couldn't miss it.  I did not have my cell phone with me, so I asked Jeff to go into the men's room and take a picture of it for me.
Wake up people---this is coming to the USA soon if we don't take action, and I fear we won't.  Just sayin'.

That's all for now.
