Thanksgiving Photos

COW POOP
Turkey day is just a memory.  Here are some photos of the kinfolk celebrating.  Also, I just finished selecting and resizing my favorite photos of Billy's visit to Arkansas.  That will be my next post.  Some great pictures of Billy, Tommy, Judy and Carol.

Lindsay and Jason, with their three adorable boys, traveled from Texas to be with Tommy and Judy.  Thanks for sharing, Tommy!

Tommy and Judy have a very large family and are always on the go.  So the day after Thanksgiving they had their Christmas with Jason, Linsday and family.
  The faces say it all!

Fine Dining (sort of) in Redneck Country.

We knew that we would be dining on "free-range" turkeys, but didn't realize that they had "free range" of the dining room!

Sprague's Maple Farms was worth the drive to Portville, NY.  The grounds and restaurant are immaculate, the food wonderful---we had a great time!

I copied this pic from Lacey's blog.  She did a great job describing our day, so check it out (link to "Lake Life" on the right side of this page).

We  all felt that we got the best table in the house.  It was round and large---very roomy.  The restaurant had booths lining the walls and square tables on the interior.  We had the view of the whole place from our corner table.

Home cookin'----we women are a tough crowd and all gave it a five star rating!

It is a MAPLE farm, so they offered maple pumpkin pie and maple custard for desserts (among others).  Nancy, Barry and Lacey got the custard, but pumpkin was my choice.  It did not dissapoint and the presentation was great!

Celebrating Thanksgiving at home is special, but things do change.  We enjoyed good food and family and didn't miss the cleanup one bit!

This & That

COW POOP
Aunt Theresa was taken to the hospital but should be back in the nursing home in a couple of days to continue her rehab, so she can return to her apartment.
We have been blessed with a mild November so far.  Please send any family news to me so I can share it with the kinfolk.

November in Arkansas
Tommy sent this to me a couple of days ago---fog over the lake---a view from his house.  Really like this one.

And the fog has lifted a short while later.

A teaser of pictures to come!
Billy and Carol flew down south to visit Tommy and Judy on November 6.  Tommy e-mailed me this photo and more are to come via snail mail on a cd.  I will be posting them very soon.
Chef Billy making his homemade spaghetti sauce for everyone.  It looks like his back is bothering him---hope it's better, Billy.
Stay tuned for more photos.

PI  MAN continues brewing.

Two gallons of stout.

Bottling the stout with loyal "Carlie" at his feet.  Good thing Pi Man still runs daily---I will be keeping a sharp eye out for beer build up around the middle.

Once again BARRY to the rescue.
A couple of weeks ago Barry came over to help put our generator in place and hook up the gas.  Nancy and I visited and she ran outside, snapping action photos from time to time.

Operator in chief!

Easy does it!

Nancy checks out my few Thanksgiving decorations.

Nancy came upon this (yellow) dog while walking her dog.  He was resting in the grass and looked tired and confused.  She got a leash and brought him back to their fenced-in yard---much to the dismay of "Bruiser!"
The dog had a tag on its collar and that just happened to be the vet that Nancy & Barry take their pets to.  She called the vet and was given the owner's name.  "Shiloh" had wandered quite a way from his home and the owner was thrilled to get his dog back.  A happy ending!

Respect the TURKEY!

COW POOP
Halloween is over.  I am posting the pictures I have received from family.  That will be it for Halloween, as I am moving on to Thanksgiving.  Of course, we all have Christmas on our minds.  How sad that Thanksgiving has become just an interruption---a long weekend.  I love this holiday. Maybe we should take extra time the entire month of November to count our blessings.  As a TV ad says, "respect the TURKEY!"
On a more serious note, Aunt Theresa is not doing very well right now and I'm sure could use all our prayers.

Alex or Andrew (always get them mixed up), baby Allison (don't know who is holding her, Alex or Andrew again, and Katie!

Allison with dad Jamie (above) and Noah and Aviana with dad Steve.

Carol prepared goodie bags for each of her grandchildren, not just one puny treat!

Our very special boy, Andrew, with Steve.  This was his first year trick-or-treating.

Butterfly Kiera with dad Bill.  She recently was named student of the month at her school, making mom, dad, gramma and grandpa very proud!

Timmy and Kerry always go all out!  Here is Kerry with two trick-or-treaters.

Pi Man welcomes the little ones in his own, ghoulish way.

Brett, also, went all out with decorations.  He and "Ronin" sat on the porch greeting the kiddies.  "Ronin" is one cool dog!  And he is looking his very best for this holiday:)

NON-HALLOWEEN NEWS
Mary Ann's grandson, Christopher,---Deb's son---had his confirmation October 24th.

Deborah, Dan and family.

Patty's granddaughter, Bethany (and hubby Jeremy), visited Timmy & Kerry recently.
When family comes a-callin' in Louisiana, The Crescent City Brewery is a sure stop.

Cathy's daughter-in-law, Elissa, celebrated her 26th birthday and Kiera wanted to be in on the action with mommy.

Okay everyone,
your mission is to send me pictures or news of how you "respect the TURKEY."
(And I don't  mean your spouse!)
