Give Me A BREAK!

. . . from the heat, that is.

8:30 a.m. on 7/26 and the monster is already high in the sky in Bath, NY,  making life miserable.  Looking forward to fall!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANCY!

A low-key celebration with the in-laws and Lacey where we all stayed inside to keep cool.

Nancy made her own birthday cake---that's one way to get just exactly what you want!

White cake with homemade lemon filling and boiled frosting.

DELISH!

 Time to open gifts.
Barry cannot contain his excitement!!!

 Nancy loves funny cards:)))

Lacey wore her cat tee in honor of the occasion.

Barry is always out numbered---at least he had Mike today!

*******

Not a whole lot going on.

Lacey had her first YOGA class right on Keuka Lake.
Zumba, Yoga---what could be next???

Quick Update

I have been very busy the last couple of weeks on a "secret mission" for one of my siblings.  In that regard, I visited my sister, Carol, last week.  We enjoyed spending a day and a half together.

Going out to breakfast when I visit Carol is a must!  This is my absolute favorite place, and I make a point of going every time I visit the Binghamton area.

This restaurant/gift shoppe/furniture store is about 15 minutes from Carol's home.
COFFEE---first things first!
 The lights come on when I have a great cup of coffee in the morning!
Their pancakes are some of the best I've had.  I always order them there.

These were completely devoured by moi after taking the picture.

This is a really busy place!  Even so, we did not feel rushed and enjoyed the atmosphere.
You can see the doors to their gift shop right behind Carol.

Kevin came up to Hornell for a few days to help move Patty.
He and Roy ran into Brett at Cider Creek Mill.
Nice picture!

Timmy and Kerry are dog sitting for Kerry's parents.  "Molly"
fits right in with the humans---"Tinky" is not impressed.

Tinky's tactic:  ignore, ignore, ignore.

Mollie wants Kerry to get a selfie with her:)

Tommy sent me this.  Wow!
I have a feeling this guy is a loner!

Lastly,
Went for a half-hour walk this a.m. while it was still fairly mild.

Some of the old homes in Bath are beautiful.  You will see several lovely ones and then see run down houses right across the street.

I took this photo of one of my favorites this morning.

Right before I went by this house, there was a  humble little home with some hostas planted right by the sidewalk.  I did a double take and noticed this sign:
A couple of letters are missing, but it made me smile.

Have a great week!

The Heat is ON!

The heat from down south has moved our way!
Thanks for sharing, Timmy and Tommy---NOT!

JULY 4th

Nancy and Barry had a small, casual, late-afternoon gathering.  Good food and even an outdoor game.  Very festive!  Thank you!

My plate.  Yes,  I did go back for seconds! (My hot dog is next to the corn---it is black---I love them that way).

Let the game begin!

               Barry's parents, Lucy and Mike, seem to always win!!

After a crushing loss for teams Barry/Lacey and Nancy/Cindy, we consoled ourselves with dessert.

This is a delicious WEGMANS white cake with
whipped cream.  Nancy added the NJ blueberries.

Lacey plates the dessert with blueberries and extra whipped cream garnish.  YUM!

Cathy & Jim (in their festive red, white and blue) attended a cookout at their son's home (Tom and Amy).  Erin was there also.

Love the planters!!

DOG DAYS
I visited Andrew & Allison Mayo and his family last week.  These are their two new additions.  Juneau (right) is a Corgi,
complete with his tail---yay!
The other pup, London, they rescued from a kill shelter.  It's a heartwarming story.  Allison told me they determined to adopt a black color dog, as black dogs statistically are the last to be adopted.
London is just as sweet as can be---they both are!
It's great to see these dogs find their "furever" home!!

___________
The Mayo's son, Brendan, attended a football "lineman" camp recently.  Andrew took Juneau along as part of his socialization
training.  Corgi's are part of the herding group.  They always have the desire to round up and herd.  Andrew said Juneau was wanting to run down onto that field and get all those football players gathered into one group!  You can see it in these pictures he took.

 Let me at 'em!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My four-day dog sitting job.
 "Bo" is really tiny!  He was so well behaved.
It was total enjoyment taking care of him!
"Bo's" owner is Christi's sister-in-law.
Nancy, Barry and Lacey stopped by to check on "Bo"
on his last night with me.
Another strawberry season is over.
 1969 Better Homes & Gardens cookbook
 I just cannot get enough of our local berries!
I love them on homemade biscuits.
**********************
Okay, I'll let a couple of cats crash the party.
 Nixon, left, has a crooked tail---thus his name.  Ha!
Fluffernutter is his best bud!
Barry is the cat whisperer.  They all love him and he loves them.
Now if we can just call Animal Planet Network and get him his own show . . .
Cathy at Kmart with me, shopping for greeting cards.
 This is BIG-TIME excitement here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats to Linwood upon retiring.  Most of you know his
company closed.
. . . He is already working on home projects!
Our best to you, Lin.
I took this photo last Saturday.  Very impressive!
*********
 Someone got a new JOHN DEERE hat!
Nancy is so jealous that I can drive this big baby that she goes out and poses on it.  What a "wanna be!"   HA!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And last but absolutely NOT least, my  little granddaughter in Germany.
Summer was slow coming to MUNICH, but this little lady
is ready!
Catherine is stylin' in her new sandals!
