Dog Sitting

I stopped in to have coffee with Carol last Thursday, as I was traveling through Binghamton.

Carol had leftovers from her huge St. Patrick's Day dinner.  This chocolate cake was perfect with coffee.  Jennifer was there and took some cake to go.

Steve and Claire were in NYC last weekend and brought
me back some gourmet coffee to enjoy.

Lacey's friend sold her a storage shed at a bargain.  Barry can move anything!  He got it on his trailer and it was delivered safely to Lacey's back yard (to be installed later).

Cathy just sent this to me.  After a brief time at home, Matt met former President Clinton at an airport in California yesterday.

All I know about SQUASH is that Nancy loves to eat it and Andrew loves playing it.  I took him to his squash lesson on Princeton University campus this past Tuesday---interesting.

Time to get ready for the sweet sixteen March Madness broadcast.

That's it for now!
Senior dogs, but still lovin' life, Lola & Alex.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I picked Nancy up this a.m. and we went out for a few hours.

The Dollar Tree

Applebees
Nancy ate very  little of this---
Barry was the beneficiary!

Nice sunset outside my window a couple of days ago.

Unauthorized pic of Carol.  I don't think she will mind.

Per your comment, Nancy---Your wish is granted!

Wish I had more interesting stuff, but that is it!

SHORT & SWEET POST

I think I have been watching way too much election coverage on TV!

Renee---HELP!

HOWEVER, I think some good has come from
all of this excessive political coverage:

That's all folks!

Let the Madness Begin!

The Yahoo Allen Family Feud is underway.  Let the madness begin!

. . . and, in my humble opinion, this is not ALL of the MADNESS that is happening right now.

This lady is "feelin' the Bern."  But it's not about her.
Notice our handsome nephew, Matt, protecting the candidate.
AWESOME ---
(our nephew, that is---not crazy Bernie:)
*Please do NOT copy this photo or post it anywhere.
This is for family only!

Back to Sprague's Maple Farm

Nancy and Barry took Lacey and Brett to Sprague's yesterday, March 12.  It's maple sugaring time there, and the line was out the door!  But if you have ever been there, you know it is well worth the wait.
Located just outside of Olean, NY, Sprague's is known for their free-range turkeys and their maple syrup.

I love this picture and have so many great memories of Sprague's!!

Give someone a bearhug today:)

Brett's first visit to Sprague's.  He and Barry walked the grounds and viewed the maple trees.

Finally---this is their signature turkey dinner which is my favorite!

The entrance---notice the maple leaf prints in the concrete.

This picture was taken at Sprague's in 2012 (I think) when
Tommy was visiting.  Judy wasn't there, but I know she would love this place!

C O L O R I N G   CORNER

Nancy's latest work of art . . .
This is my favorite, so far.
I just can't seem to complete my pictures in less than a month.

CARTOON CORNER

This was sent to me by Tommy.

He sent more and I will post some of them later.

That's all for now.

Stuff 'N Nonsense!

Nancy is OVER THE MOON!

Nancy's sweetie pie, Doug Flutie, will be on this season's
"Dancing with the Stars," airing in late March.
She has wished, for many years, that he would be selected, but held out little hope and was totally surprised when the "star" cast was announced this week!  Many of us will be watching.

Post Script on San Antonio

YEARs ago Lew and I vacationed in Texas and visited the ALAMO.  I have just two pictures, likely taken with a Kodak Instamatic camera, and not very good.  But here they are.

Notice the cowboy boots that Jeff and Steve are wearing.  They just had to have them!

Mayhem with pruning scissors.

Nancy received a Butterfly Bush for Mother's Day last year.  It is supposed to be pruned/cut back in the late fall or early spring.  This had not been done until a few days ago, when I decided it was time to do the deed.  Nancy thinks that, perhaps, I was a bit extreme in  my pruning (see finished product at the bottom of the picture).
If any of you have a Butterfly Bush, let me know if you think I killed it or stimulated it to grow.

The Allen Sisters are feeling a bit "down."
(Maybe Tommy and Billy watch, too---don't know.)

Oh how I wish I had a wit as quick as the
Dowager Countess!
Farewell, Downton Abbey.

The Love of College Basketball!

David, Judy's and Tommy's son, attended University of Kansas for his undergraduate degree.  He was an active part of the Jayhawks basketball team, in an official support capacity, and is passing his love of the team on to his son, Tommy.  What fun!
I received this email with photos from Tommy a few days ago.
AWESOME!
David and Tommy went to Lawrence for the KU-Iowa State game last week.  They were treated like royalty... got to a practice... toured the campus... attended a practice (he got to shoot at their basket...sat right behind the scorer's table (the long-time broadcaster was retiring and being honored  -  his sidekick and new announcer, Greg Gurley, was/is a close friend of Dave's - and he appears in the corner of a photo that was all over utube, as a tribute to the retiring guy.
Neat.
- Tom

Little Tommy's expression soooo reminds me of my grandson, Andrew!

I think we all know who David will pick to
"win it all" in the Allen Family March Madness!

CATTY CORNER

"Cream Soda" is recuperating from surgery by soaking up some rays!
We love our furry, fuzzy, fluffy friends!!!

********
Yes, Linwood, it was 75 degrees here yesterday.  But don't you think you are a bit over optimistic?  :)

That is it for now.
I heard from Cathy that Patty is not doing well, so keep her in your prayers.
