Are you making your plans for the big game? Nancy and I are both making "helmet" cookies and decorating them with our team's logo:
the NY GIANTS, of course.
However, many of y'all have the absolute right to be rooting for the wrong team, and we respect that--- hee-hee!
What a guy!
NE coach, Bill Belicheat----err, I mean Bill Belichick.
Ever since Billy's scandal, this is what you see on the sidelines.
But being the good sport that I am,
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE.
FAMILY NEWS
I received news from Timmy that his grandson, Bennett, broke his leg The poor kid!
Bennett broke his leg while playing with his sister, Reagan. He ran into her. The result was a cast from the foot way up to his hip.
The little guy is exhausted after his hospital ordeal. Let's keep both him and Mom in our prayers. This is especially hard with a toddler!
Please see correction at bottom after reading this.
Attending the Army/Navy game is on my bucket list. The pageantry, the patriotism, the honor, the game---a true American classic.
From the December 2011 Army/Navy program.

Tommy and Judy's son-in-law and Alison's husband.
T & J attended the Army/Navy game in December. It was held at FED EX Field in Landover, MD.
Andrew and Alison's son, Evan, is already a big sports fan.
Andrew on the sidelines.
Enjoying the grandkids---this is what grandpas and grandmas are for!
I goofed. That football game (above) was held at Annapolis, MD, (at Navy) and was a regular-season game. They played another team (S. Carolina?).
T & J, too, want to go to an Army/Navy game in the near future.
Chalk it up to my not feeling up to par:)
Barry Teaches 'Em A Thing Or Two!
Barry recently gave a talk and answered the many questions fielded to him from concerned residents regarding "fracking" and its impact on the community. He knows his stuff!
Barry's low-key demeanor and knowledge of the subject made for a very successful presentation.
WELL DONE!
Kerry's Latest Painting
This is the City Park Carousel.
Before painting it, Kerry took some photographs (see pic below). She took artistic licensce and changed some of the background colors.
Great job, as always, Kerry!
Glad she didn't put that lady in her painting:)))
WALKIN' THE DOG.
Linwood helps out a neighbor in need (knee replacement) by walking his Greyhound dog. This breed always requires a coat in cold weather.
One minute there was no snow. A short while later the ground was white.
This was the scene across the street from Mary Ann & Lin's home. There has been very little snow here thus far.
Mary Ann did her part baking cookies and packing a cheery gift basket for her neighbor.
Tea, soup, cookies, a book and other goodies.
Carol sent me photos from Chris's race on 1/28 at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton.
This was a 10k race.
And, of course, Carol could not resist sending a picture of her youngest grandchild, Allison, just learning to stand.
That's all for now. I've been a bit under the weather so cut me some slack if you note any errors!

great job Cindy, hope you feel better soon
ReplyDeleteI just love seeing everyone
Love the paintings and am so sorry about the broken leg!
beer me!
I really want the NY team but have to cheer on the other team so as not to let down most of my family here--may the BEST team win!
Mary Ann
Great update, Cindy - thanks!
ReplyDeleteNice write-up on Andrew Thompson and I bet T&J had a great time at the game.
Their gold and blue sweatshirts actually look gold and black to me, which of
course remind me of the SAINTS! 8^) But I'm definitely pulling for the Giants!
GEAUX GIANTZZZZZZZZ!
BTW, is Lt. Col. on the horizon for Andrew, hmmmm? ME THINK SEAUX! 8^)
Barry is Da' Man giving that talk so calmly. (Nancy and Lacey give him plenty of opportunities to practice patience.) OH SOMEBODY STOPPPPP MEEEEEE! 8^)
Loved the cookies and basket that Mary Ann did for the neighbor.
Makes me want some for sure! And that was nice of Lin to walk the Greyhound.
We LOVE Greyhounds, and have often talked about rescuing one of them as well. I remember Kevin had one years ago, and it was precious!
I hear y'all on the "no snow" thing up there. We've had near record and record temperatures since December. I was mowing the lawn again yesterday!
And finally, that Cranberry Maibock brew was from a kit a friend gave me. It has a high sugar composition and therefore will be a higher than normal alcohol by volume content. 10.8% is expected, but shhhhhhhhhhhhh! No one can know! 8^)It will be ready for testing ~February 25th.
