The End of the Road

COW  POOP (my favorite clip art for the Cow Poop section.)

I've been thinking about this for a while and feel that now is the time to bid "Cindy's Green Acres" farewell.
I cannot remember when I started the family web site---at least five or six years ago.  I've had lots of fun posting picture and adding humorous comments.
The reality is that with FACEBOOK (seven of nine sibs are on it or a spouse is on it) I am duplicating many photos that have already been posted for family to see and Facebook updates are posted daily by many.  It's just not worth the time it takes for that reason.
I feel sort of sad to end this fun adventure.
I will, however, revamp my private blog on which I muse about mundane life around our home, the blessing and struggles of trying to lead a Christian life, and snippets of anything I find interesting, along with some pictures.  I have neglected that site for several months.  Let's try not to lose touch with one another!

  God Bless!  Cindy

PS:  I'm ending with  this nice picture of Sister Scholastica vacationing with Tommy & Judy this week.  She looks great!

  2. Cindy,
Thank you so much for all the time and effort for the Allen home page!!! I truly have enjoyed viewing it throughout the years but I also realize to some extent what time is involved. You have done the work while we just click on the site to enjoy. Your time and commitment will not be left unnoticed. Thank you!!!!

  3. Noooo! I see only about 25% of the photos here posted to Facebook (for example, I would never have seen that picture of Sister and Judy if it weren't for Green Acres). I beg you to reconsider!

  4. This is a sad day. I hate to see Green Acres go to the trash bin. Maybe someone will recycle it. I will miss the cartoons and witty comments(and the critters)! Thanks for the years of enjoyment you have given us.

  5. I vote you keep it going - I am with Lacey while some things make it to Facebook many don't. I understand though if you need more time for the new dogs.

  6. Oh no! This is really sad news! I understand it must be very time consuming, but Lacey is right. I would never know what your kids,Tom and Judy's kids, etc. are up to if it were not for this site. I feel like this site has allowed everyone to get to know each other (I wasn't born into the family, so I have used this site as a study guide for years!) and keep in touch. This site has made family reunions something to look forward to rather than awkward must-do events because everyone has something to talk about. I am so sorry to see it end. As Gregory said though, I understand if you need more time for your pups! Love, Allison

  7. I think you should listen to Lacey, Allison, and Gregory! And now me---I enjoy it so much---and nobody else would have those witty & funny comments that you added. You & Nancy are the ones who are always doing fun things together and then posting your pics, and you guys aren't even on Facebook. So I hope you put a lot of pics on your blog! Carol B.
