Super Weekend!

Super Bowl with a story-book ending!
The family seems to agree!

I was going nuts wondering why the Broncos didn't try to advance the ball the last couple of plays.  They trusted in their defense and they were right!

Andrew, my grandson, went all out for Denver!

Bill has been a loyal Broncos fan all along!

Cathy and Matt have the Bronco gear on---I have such a smart family:)

Checking In With Patty

Nancy and I went to Hornell Wegmans and
then met Patty at the Country Kitchen for lunch.

PAY BACK!  Oh yes, pals.   Nancy surprised ME  taking a picture a number of years ago.  It's a long story, but I finally got her back!!!

Looking good!  Patty is always dressed perfectly.  Nancy and I are the tee shirt ladies.

A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

Barb (Allen) Arthur sent this to Nancy recently.

Well, the above picture from The Canisteo Times got me thinking.
I spent some time online looking for pages from that newspaper.
What I found was limited and I was not able to copy what I found and paste it to "my pictures" or docs.  I ended up using my iPad to take the picture that was up on my laptop screen.  So I hope you find these readable!

My first find:
I did not print this because of the article itself---it's the HEADLINE!  Really, can you imagine writing "scalped" in this politically-correct age!?  It shows how utterly ridiculous we have become.  Funny, too.

Not sure of the date---I don't recognize any names.

Find #2:
Life was so exciting back in the day!  Wow, you found out what your neighbor was doing in the local paper!  No need for gossiping!

June 14, 1956 - There are TWO people mentioned that all of you (sibs) know!
Find them---some of you may know even more.

Find #3:
Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?
Looks like this game was a BIG deal!
September 1950---CCS Football
Billy, did we win???

Lastly:
Gosh, I loved going to this store.  Getting a popsicle was a major deal!  I remember the wood floor, too.

I remember licking those stamps and putting them into the book for Mom.

Have a great week everyone!

  3. P.S. Commenting as signed in to Google is working fine for me- but I was already signed in to Gmail before coming to your page so maybe that is the secret?
