I, like many, feel a virtual prisoner inside today due to the excessive heat. I turned on my Pandora radio and am enjoying classical music for the first time in a long, long while. I forgot how much I love it! FYI, Carol, Cathy, Timmy and myself all played in the orchestra---cello, french horn, trumpet and viola respectively.
One way to keep cool is to go to WEGMAN'S.
Nancy is at the Hornell store with me a couple of weeks ago.
On my way to Steve's a week ago, I stopped in for a coffee break at Carol Buffum's. I try to do that every time I go to NJ. Carol took this selfie of us on her front porch right before I left.
Thanks for the coffee refill, Carol!

In case you don't feel old already, here is a reality check.
Andrew and me at Dilly's in New Hope, PA.
Steve in Boulder, CO. I held down the fort with Andrew and the dogs. We watched the Olympics and had a great time!

I had given Nancy a Keuka Lake tee for her birthday but it didn't fit. She returned it for this one, and I like it better than the one I picked out. AND, she got herself another hat! Very nice.

For us Allen sibs, the photo below is a bit depressing. Nancy, Barry and I drove by the REAGAN Homestead about three weeks ago. The classic Reagan sign by the mailbox was broken (it used to have two deer and trees on the top) and it had been painted silver (used to be black wrought iron color). Weeds were two+ feet high all around it. That being said and to be fair, the reality is that no one lives there and it is a working farm and hunting lodge, so who could take all the time necessary to keep it as it once was? You can't go home again, the saying goes---so true.
NOW
2008
Notice the deer and pine trees on the sign and the blooming peonies and trees.

Timmy and I have been texting saying how bored we are being stuck inside. Kerry took this pic of Timmy eating lunch while watching the Olympics. It looks like he's eating beans---oh my.
On another note, thank God Timmy and Kerry are safe from all the awful flooding going on in Louisiana!
Perfect napping weather.
Time to end this boring post!
Stay cool!!!
As local celeb (Rochester) Bob Lonsberry says, I'll try to
do better next time!!

I don't like this summer!!! Too hot & humid. But my favorite season is fast approaching:FALL Bet you'll be taking some gorgeous pics outside then, Cindy! Carol
