For Women Only!

The Diary of a "royal-obsessed" Woman.

Cynthia
The alarm went off at 3:45.  I must have something to eat immediately upon rising in the A.M.  I wished I had baked scones (sigh).  However, I felt better realizing that I, as a commoner, would find nourishment in the breakfast food found in many of
 Charles Dickens' novels:  porridge(aka oatmeal)

After eating, I decided to "dress" for the occasion.  By "dress" I mean to get out of my PJ's.  The clock struck four----the festivities began.

I am not a hat person but felt I must show respect on this historical occasion.

On my coffee table I had all things English:  the creamer I purchased there in 2005 (as well as the tin of tea), a plate made of English ironstone, and (of course) the royal wedding programme.

I began watching the coverage on ABC, but got  more and more annoyed by their HUGE logo that interfered with my viewing enjoyment!
So I switched to NBC where only the word "live" could be seen in the upper left corner.

I love the pomp---the majestic music. My favorites were the all boy choir and the trumpet fanfares.

Everything was wonderful, but I was getting more and more sleepy.  When the royal couple returned to Buckingham Palace I gave in and took a nap.  I missed the kiss, live.  Oh well.
When I got up I saw reruns of the balcony scene.  I put on another pot of coffee and, again, wished I had made scones!  But---EUREKA!   I realized I had one Easter Bunny cookie left.

I would say this was quite an exciting day for this commoner.
God save the Queen!  (and that hunk William!)

NANCY

Nancy started her early morning with a very British breakfast-in-bed.  And she DID make her own blueberry scones! YUM.

She has her pinky placed just right!

After breakfast, Nancy moved to the large-screen TV in the living room.  Donned in her royal sweat suit, hat, heels and even makeup she went above and beyond the call of duty.  Lovey, just lovely!

MARY ANN
Mary Ann watched the wedding in her PJ's---they almost look like a pant suit!
Yes, Mom raised us right.  Mary Ann, too, knew that it would be a huge faux pas not to wear a hat!

Linwood dressed in his turkey hunting garb---take him to the tower!

CAROL
Carol watched on the BBC channel---I'm sure their British accents added to the ambiance:)

I'm sure we will all be watching the highlights of the day this evening (if we don't fall asleep).
It was a jolly good show!

"Woof" (translation: ditto)

  1. Great job everyone! If I had to vote I would say Nancy's spread was the best, followed by Cindy's, then Mary Ann and Lin at the bottom.

I love the pic of the dog- it's a Cavalier KING CHARLES Spaniel. Some day that is the breed of dog I would like to have :-)

  2. P.S. I think Sir Elton would be appalled by Lin's Royal Wedding dress.

  3. This is so funny! I was up before 4am too! Patrick and Jasmine were up in time for the actual wedding. Radar watched it with us, hoping he might catch a glimpse of one of the Queen's corgis at the palace! I hope they have a very happy marriage filled with love in spite of the royal pressures they face. -Allison

  6. I think the Queen would approve of Cindy's and Mary Ann's hat. She would have been "mortified" if she saw Linwood's outfit! Off with his head:)

  8. I just noticed CAROL has NO hat! Her HEAD will be spared, but she must spend 30 minutes on the infamous "rack!"
