January Stuff

COW POOP

Aunt Theresa is in the nursing home resting comfortably.  She is in very good hands with Uncle David, Robert, and Dickie (not to mention wives Kathy and Betty who are both nurses).  Many of us are praying that her suffering will soon end.  I am thankful to David for keeping me posted, via Skype.
Winter is finally here.  Hope you all are well.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Jamie and Candy were married on Friday, January 13.  They consider 13 their lucky number as their little Allison was born on that date.
The wedding was low key, performed by a JP.  Rebecca and Chris opened their home for a family reception afterward.  Hopefully, there will be a  larger celebration for extended family in the near future.

All the best to you, Candy and Jamie!!

You can recognize everyone in this picture, except for the friends of the couple.  And FYI, Noelle has returned to being a brunette.

Thanks for sharing you special day with us!

NANCY and BARRY Ring In the NEW YEAR.

All the excitement of TIMES SQUARE with the comforts of home---works for me!!

"Bruiser" wears  some tinsel to add to the festive atmosphere---what a party animal!

Andrew and Allison's eldest son, Gregory, competed in his school's GEOGRAPHY BEE the week before Christmas vacation.
 (Fourth from the right)

The ten finalists for the Geography Bee were chosen from a written test given to all 6th and 7th graders (nearly 400 students).

Here is the WINNER:

Gregory!
He now moves on to the state level with a written test on
January 19.
Congratulations and good luck, Gregory!

The Agony of DEFEAT.

. . . and it all started out with such
high hopes.

NANCY just LOVES her Christmas tree.  Finally, on January 17th, it had to go.

To be fair, she was sick for two weeks with the bug and not well enough to take it down.  Still, it proved difficult to part with.
Lacey's Exam Day.

On 1/14 Lacey took her certification test in Rochester.
Afterward she, Nancy and Barry made their first visit to the
Cheesecake Factory.
They give it an enthusiastic thumbs up.

Looks like a double helping of whipped cream, to me!

That's all folks.

  3. Congratulations to Jamie and Candy! Congrats also to Gregory! Poor Nancy...didn't want to give up her tree. Hey, down here in New Orleans, lots of people keep the tree up, but change the decorations from red and green to purple, green and gold for Mardi Gras. Our trees do double duty!
Happy Mardi Gras! (We're in the Mardi Gras season, which runs until Feb. 21st)

  4. Can you install a "Like" button? I would like to "Like" Uncle Tim's comment! Nancy and Barry... Who thinks of this stuff? The tree thing is extremely funny! -Allison

One more thing... Gregory took the Geo Bee test this week to qualify to go to the state finals on March 30th in Albany, but he doesn't know how he did yet. He said it seemed pretty easy, with only one question, out of 70 he didn't know. He said "I bet some kids got 100's." We'll let you know when we find out!

  5. Allison, it was my humble idea for that pic of Nancy hanging on for dear life (to the tree) as Barry drags it out. Lacey took the actual picture. We all need to LAUGH! Glad you liked it. Also, I don't think I can put a like button on the comments. I will investigate.

  6. Great pictures, Cindy. I, too, love the one of Nancy hanging on to the tree! And I especially like the one of Tinkerbell!(I have a soft spot in my heart for her.)Congratulations to Gregory! What a smart kid!(seems to take right after his great aunt Carol!) I'm going to buy a king cake from New Orleans & have it shipped here for Mardi Gras this year, seeing how I found the baby in the cake at Tim & Kerry's last year! And I have the shirts & beads & masks for me & Jimmy to wear, too. (Also, the Hurricane mix!)Carol B.
