A Taste of Spring

This is such an uplifting time of year.
 Spring, Lent, Easter---HOPE!

I am way behind on pictures.  This is Nancy's homemade king cake, one of her traditions during the Easter season.
You can add your own caption to this:)

St. Patrick's Day

Of course, all our thoughts were of Patty on this day, no matter where we were.

Judy and her sweet granddaughter, Savannah, made a gourmet
chocolate cake from "Southern Living" magazine.  It was a team effort!

Tommy testifies that this cake was amazing---how could it not be with a chocolate ganache frosting!!!

Now I have another theory as to why it was so tasty:

It is so great to see Tommy & Judy enjoying their grandchildren
(these three are Alison & Drew's) who now live in the area.
They certainly were in the spirit of the day:)

Just thought I would put this pic of me standing in front of
one of the many beautiful cathedrals in Southern Germany.  This
was on our vacation to cities along the "Romantic Road."
Southern Germany is heavily Catholic---Northern Germany Protestant.

Critter Corner
Thanks, Andrew Mayo, for sending me these two pictures from your "animal house."  :)
I love how relaxed this kitty looks---not sure of his/her name.
Here is JUNEAU, their Corgi who kept his tail.
Andrew said he was sleeping
because he was totally BORED with a Syracuse Basketball game.
Yeah, it must have been an away game.

Last, but not least, meet Mr. Waddles.  Mr. Waddles lives on the Moon property and likes to make frequent appearances in the field behind their house.  This area is close to where Barry puts out apples for the deer---maybe that is what attracts this guy.
                                   (He is one sharp cookie!)

Nancy and Barry enjoy the March Madness final.
Notice Nancy just cannot resist flaunting her
"Dick Vitale" trophy that she won last year!

Thanks, Scott Allen, for another fun Allen Family Feud!

Down south . . .
4/8/2017   Kerry and I just drove across Lake Ponchartrain to the Mandeville area. It's such a beautiful day here. We're gonna drive around and then go have a brew and lunch at a pub called Old Rail Brewing Company. 🍺🌞🍺

Thanks for sending these pictures of your nice day out!
*I asked Timmy for some material he had not posted on
Facebook.

 Mary Ann's grandson, Davey (right)---Dianne & Jeff's son,
celebrated this milestone birthday recently.

A family party was held at Dianne and Jeff's home.
Second  row from left:  Veronica, Ally (sisters) and Grandma Mary Ann
Third row:  Jeff (dad), Ally's husband Tim, Linwood, Dianne (Mom) and Jacqueline (sister)
Don't know names of the others who are likely other the grandparents family.

I received the following info about Davey's college plans from Dianne:

He’ll be going to St. Francis University in Loretto, PA, in the fall. He will study engineering. He is a preferred walk-on for football (a punter) and will be going to football camp before school starts. If he does well at camp, he might play in a few games. There is currently a punter on scholarship, however. Hopefully in Davey’s sophomore and junior years, he will get that scholarship.  He is excited about the college and playing football for the Red Flash! J

All the best to you, Davey!

Happy News!

Karen & Matt and Amy & Tom (Cathy & Jim's sons) are
both expecting!  We are happy and excited for them both!
Needless to say, Grandma Cathy is in 7th heaven.

Nancy and Barry have made several trips to Rochester for Nancy's
doctor appointments lately.  Afterward, they met up with
Mary Ann and Linwood for lunch.
Spending time with family is what it's all about!

Andrew (my grandson), on "platform 9 3/4" waiting
to board the train to Hogwarts.
Steve and family spent two days there and all agreed it was FABULOUS!

This past Monday, 4/11, I spent part of the day with Nancy.
She was making her first potato salad of the season and
Barry planned to cook out that evening---It was sunny and almost 80 degrees!!!!
The grill needed cleaning so I did the job for Barry.

Mystery coffee blogger:
I love this mug.

Believe it or not, THREE coffee pots were on every day
while Timmy was at Nancy & Barry's a few weeks ago.
 . . . a coffee lover's paradise!

Exactly.

E A S T E R
This is a church just around the corner from me.  I love looking
for what they post on their message board.

"A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to
overlook an offense."  Proverbs 19:11  NIV

HAPPY EASTER everyone!
